why we’re here:

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg famously said, “Women belong in all places where decisions are being made.”

AT HER BOLD MOVE, WE EXIST TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN.

In states across the country, majority-male GOP legislatures (led by male GOP governors) are passing laws that infringe upon women’s health, safety, and rights to bodily autonomy. The work we do today is especially critical because most of the people making these decisions about abortion access ARE MEN.

Men account for 73% of the elected officials in the U.S. government. Her Bold Move is on a mission to change that. We’re here to elect unapologetically pro-choice women and shatter every glass ceiling that still exists in our government. We are laser-focused on electing women to seats that have historically only been held by men, and women of color to seats that have never been held by a woman who looks like them.

We have a plan for 2024 and beyond that will uplift the voices of compassionate, pragmatic, pro-choice, pro-women women who are ready to serve their communities — and actually fight for the reproductive freedom we deserve.

Founder + Executive Director

Before 2020, we were a group of eager volunteers from the media, entertainment, and production industries determined to use our resources, networks, and skills to help more women get elected. By the end of the 2020 cycle, we had produced more than 75 pro bono campaign ads for candidates across 18 states, and had rallied thousands of people to join our coalition.

The experience of working with so many female candidates opened our eyes to the sexism, misogyny, and unique challenges women face when they enter politics in this country. After witnessing female candidate after female candidate lose their elections to less qualified male opponents, we decided to become the support we wished to see in the political world. We created a political organization called Her Bold Move and have never looked back.

Women candidates get skipped over for important endorsements on a regular basis. Often, it's because these endorsements are based on fundraising numbers, incumbency, pedigree, favors, or the propensity to favor the status quo. We know women find themselves at a disadvantage in all of those categories compared to their male counterparts. Women are usually underdogs in their races for political office. For every woman who has ever been called a “viable” candidate, there are countless others who have been laughed at, mocked, or told to wait her turn.

We’re going to change what it means for a woman to be considered a “viable” candidate by filling a critical gap in the current support system.

We hope you'll join us.

Together,

Jordan
